Ripon City Golf Club has been at its present location since its conception in 1908, having moved from Studley Park adjacent to Fountains Abbey. With the addition of a further nine holes in 1993, Ripon City Golf Club has now become one of the top courses in the Harrogate area.
The first nine holes of undulating parkland, with spectacular views over the city of Ripon and beyond, have many hidden surprises and in other places all that is required is the ability to hit a straight ball.
On completion of the first nine holes, have a well deserved rest with a refreshing drink from the water fountain or half way house, to prepare you for the more leisurely walk around the second nine holes. Although the walking gets easier, there is still the need to be vigilant of what may be around the corner or over the hill.
Golfers should be aware that the generous fairways, lined with what are becoming mature trees, can only add to the excitement of how to get to the green. Added bonuses to the back nine are the two ponds, especially the shot over the water to the 14th green, with the tee close to the club house, this provides entertainment for those who are sampling the hospitality of the 19th. Water also features, as you near the end of your round, on the right of the 17th green and to the left of the 18th.
The clubhouse, opened by David Llewellyn, provides excellent views from the bar lounge over the course. Good home-cooked food is available, either in the bar lounge, or should you wish, in the dining room which can seat up to 80.
The club is proud to have the services of the resident professional Tim Davis. Tim has been attached to the club for many years and provides an excellent and well stocked shop for Club members and visitors. With a Ping golf club fitting service and many leading brands of clubs, putters and other equipment available at competitive prices, you can be assured of a first class service. Tim's driving range is only a short walk from the club house giving the opportunity to try out those new clubs or benefit from a few lessons.

Directions
From the South: On the A1 follow the signs for Ripon onto the B6265 past Ripon Race Course and at the Ring Road turn right following the signs for Lightwater Valley and Masham. Turn right at the Clock Tower continuing to follow signs for Lightwater Valley. Golf Course on right approx. 1 mile.
From the North: Leave A1 at A61 towards Ripon and follow signs for Lightwater Valley and Masham. Turn right at the Clock Tower continuing to follow signs for Lightwater Valley. Golf Course on right approx. 1 mile.
