Merrist Wood Golf Course is deemed one of Surrey's longest golf courses, measuring just under 7,000 yards. When played from the back tees, the golf course offers a stern challenge for the most accomplished of golfers. The forward tees also provide an excellent test for the lesser player. Water is a key hazard - both from the tee and when approaching the greens. The 17th over water and the par 5 18th make a fine finish to an excellent round. There are forward tees on all holes, but with the white tees at 6,600 and yellow tees at 6,300, Merrist Wood offers a fair challenge for any player to play to their handicap. Whilst accurate long driving will be rewarded, good course management allows the shorter hitters to score well.
David Williams created a golf course that rewards golfers of all standards. Laid out over some 250 acres, with the holes well spaced, this course can make you feel like you're out there on your own even on the busiest of days! The greens at Merrist Wood Golf Club are maintained to USGA specifications, and thus there is a "soft spike" only policy to protect them.
The modern Clubhouse is inviting and comfortable, with a spacious bar serving local beers and a pleasant outdoor seating area with views out over the putting green, 9th and 18th greens. The Restaurant caters for all requirements, serving a variety of homemade cuisine, from breakfast snacks to full course meals. Adjoining the Clubhouse, the Pro Shop at Merrist Wood stocks a comprehensive range of equipment and clothing. The resident Golf Professional provides one-to-one and group tuition.
Merrist Wood Golf Club is located just outside Guildford, 5 minutes from the A3 and within easy reach of London, the M25 and the south coast.
Other facilities at Merrist Wood include a 300-yard driving range, two short game areas, a practice putting green, trolley hire and electric buggy hire.

Directions
From the M25, exit at Junction 10 and head towards Guildford. Follow the sign for the town centre and then follow those for the A323 to Aldershot. Proceed as per directions from Guildford.
From Guildford, follow the signs for the A323 to Aldershot. About 3 miles out of Guildford you will reach a roundabout with black and white chevrons on it. Turn right into Holly Lane and Merris Wood Golf Club is on the left, about 100 yards from the roundabout.
From M3, exit at Junction 3 for Lightwater and head towards Guildford. Stay on this road for about 7 miles until you reach the roundabout on the Guildford side of Worplesdon village. Turn right towards Aldershot into Holly Lane and Merrist Wood Golf Club are on the right after about 800 yards.
From Aldershot, follow the A323 towards Guildford until you reach the roundabout with the black and white chevrons on it. Turn left into Holly Lane and Merrist Wood are on the left about 100 yards from the roundabout.
