Kinross Golf Course has two 18 hole golf courses, and are considered by many to be two of Scotland's hidden golfing gems. The Kinross Golf Courses, with convenient access to the M90 motorway, are ideally suited for a golfing day out or short break. The charming town of Kinross itself lies in the heart of Scotland's golfing country and forms the southern gateway to Perthshire and the Highlands. Previously known as the Blue Course and the Red Course, the two courses were re-branded and re-launched in 2006 as The Montgomery and The Bruce respectively, taking their names from the two families that have owned the estate around Loch Leven for most of the last three centuries. These two highly regarded 18-hole golf courses lie in beautiful, unspoilt parkland bordering Loch Leven.

The Bruce is a 6,231 yard, par 73 course, and is a thoroughly enjoyable test of golf. Undulating greens, streams, ponds and enticing tree-lined fairways provide a challenging activity to both low and high handicap golfers alike. There are not many courses where the outward nine holes is par 39, including a sequence of four par 5's in six holes. Many of the fairways are bounded by trees and plantations, a mixture of mature cherries, oaks, beech, ash, pine, larch and spruce, offering fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Although now positioned as the junior of the two courses and perhaps the slightly gentler challenge, The Bruce remains a challenge, indeed many members and visitors prefer playing it.

The newly relocated Pro Shop offers a greatly enhanced range of golfing equipment and clothing. The recently renovated Clubhouse offers a small menu, with more extensive choice available in the restaurants in the Green Hotel.
