Description

The course at Dorset Golf & Country Club consists of 27 holes, made up of the Lakeland, Parkland & Woodland courses. Designed by Martin Hawtree, internationally acclaimed for his excellent work in re-designing Royal Birkdale for the British Open, the courses at Dorset Golf Resort offer fabulous Championship Golf. The courses are built to the highest standards and boast USGA specification greens and tees. With four sets of tees and over 7,000 yards off the Championship tees and over 6,000 yards off the tee of the day, it's an excellent test of golf for players of all standards. They are certainly courses you'll always look forward to playing. Finding a tee time to suit you at The Dorset is easy, as they operate a 3-tee start system - adding that extra bit of enjoyment to your golfing experience! The Dorset have hosted many Championship Events, including the South West PGA, The Mastercard Tour Event, County Championships, Bentley Regional Qualifier and the National Army Infantry Championships. The championship Lakeland/Parkland Course, par 72, provides a great golfing experience, with it's beautifully sculptured greens surrounded by cleverly placed bunkers. The course also boasts some of the most picturesque lakes and waterways you could find on any course. The Woodland Course, par 33, offers a contrasting challenge to the main course, with tight, tree-lined fairways, carved through a forest of rhododendrons. Any combination of the Lakeland, Parkland and Woodland can be combined to create an exciting and different 18 holes each time you play. The unique air-conditioned Clubhouse, recently extended to cater for 250 guests, includes a separate dining room and function room. It is beautifully furnished, has two large screen TV's, surround sound music center and full Sky Sports channels. There's a separate sports room with pool and card tables, dart board and game machines. The team of Chef's at Dorset Golf Club provide an excellent standard of catering, with generous portions and home-cooked food, they continue to grow a reputation in the surrounding area. Mouth-watering snacks and delicious full meals are available throughout the day. Whether in the comfort of the Clubhouse or out on the patio looking out on the Purbeck Hills, it's a fantastic venue for dining whilst enjoying stunning views. Individual or Group Tuition by a team of teaching Professionals can be arranged within the 16-bay floodlit Driving Range, on the course or within the computerised Teaching Zone. The well stocked Pro-Shop offers an extensive range of clubs, clothing and accessories.
